Claire Elise Boucher (bu:'SeI/boo-SHAY) born on March 17, 1988. Her stage name is Grimes. [2][3] The range of her first music was described as "lo fi R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". She has also added elements from hip hop, electronic and rock. Many of her lyrics touch to science fiction and feminist issues. Five albums have come out. Growing up in Vancouver (later shifting in Montreal), Grimes began making music on her own in the late 2000s she released two albums: Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa, in 2010 via Arbutus Records. In 2012, Visions was her third studio album. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" in addition to being presented with an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in the year 2015. The album was highly acclaimed from critics and many publications voted it the best album of the year. [6] Her fifth album Miss Anthropocene, was made available in the year 2000. Outside of the music industry, Grimes had a voice part in the action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 and is a judge on the popular music competition game show Alter Ego.
